I am really fortunate to live in Sherston in North Wiltshire in England. It’s a beautiful quiet corner of the south Cotswold with a huge amount of history, fascinating buildings and most importantly a great community. Having lived in the area for 20 odd years and in the village for the past 10, I have become increasingly drawn to understand the wildlife that is¬†literally (sometimes) on our doorstep and in many cases we just don’t appreciate what we have or even what it means.

This blog is about the wildlife of the village, how it changes throughout the year and maybe a few photographs when I understand my Digital camera actually works – so bear with me. Most of the blog will be about whats happening within a mile or two of the village with a foray to strange places like Gloucestershire.

If you happen across anything interesting in or near the village please add to the blog.

    Hello, Geoff.

I greatly appreciate your articles in Cliffhanger.

Thought you might like to know, if you don’t already, that there’s a kingfisher patrolling the river which crosses the Sopworth Road. I saw it on 4 January.

    Best wishes,

    Lynda Fleming
